Credits System
Understand estimates, holds, settlements, refunds, and expiry in GenX
How credits work
Credits are the usage unit for GenX generation tasks. The required amount is calculated from the selected model and compatible settings rather than from one universal image, video, or audio rate.
Before submission
The creator shows an estimated cost for the current configuration. Review it again after changing the model, duration, quality, aspect ratio, number of outputs, or reference options.
If your available balance is below the required amount, GenX blocks submission and shows the shortage instead of starting an underfunded task.
Task lifecycle
Hold
When a valid task is submitted, the required credits are temporarily held from available balances. Credits with an earlier expiry are allocated first.
Generate
The provider processes the task asynchronously. Its status remains visible in creation history.
Settle or release
A successful task settles the hold as usage. A confirmed submission failure, generation failure, or reconciled timeout releases the held amount back to its original credit allocations.
Status updates can take time
Provider callbacks and reconciliation are asynchronous. If a failed task still shows a hold, refresh Settings → Credits before submitting a support request with the task ID.
Balance and history
Open Settings → Credits to review your available balance and credit transactions. Creation history shows the related media task status.
Included and purchased credits
Amounts and expiry rules depend on how credits were issued. Check the live Pricing page and checkout summary before purchasing. Do not assume that subscription, promotional, and separately purchased credits share the same expiry or renewal behavior.
Failed tasks
GenX releases a credit hold only when a failure is confirmed or an abandoned task reaches reconciliation criteria. Refreshing the browser does not cancel provider work, and resubmitting creates a separate task with its own hold.
Good usage habits
- Confirm the estimate after every model or quality change.
- Test a concise brief before increasing duration or output count.
- Avoid duplicate submissions while a task is still pending.
- Keep the task ID when contacting support about a credit discrepancy.
Questions about a transaction?
Use the contact form, choose Billing and account, and include the task or order reference. Never include full card details or account credentials.
